Raspberry Pi 2 gets major speed boost and - shock - Windows 10 support

John E Dunn | Feb. 3, 2015
Nearly three years after its first going on sale, the basic Raspberry Pi has been given a major upgrade with the announcement of a new version which significantly bumps up the platform's processing power and memory.

The price of the Raspberry Pi remains the same as for the old model, £22.85 ($35) plus shipping. The old board will still be sold for developers that want them, Upton said.

With the site overloaded with traffic and sales going well, on day one the new Raspberry Pi looks as if it will be as much a success as the old one - sales are said it be running at around 2.5 million per year.
