Following the appointment in June 2014 of Fortesys Integration as Malaysian partner, Sophos's network security appliances firm Cyerboam has now promoted Fortesys as its distributor in the country.

"Fortesys will henceforth be our distributor for the market in Malaysia - a market that holds huge demand for security solutions," said Cyberoam Malaysia country manager Pauline Jacintha.

Fortesys Distribution's prime focus would be on enterprise and multi-box deals, said Jacintha. "Their strong channel base would help us penetrate Government projects. Fortesys also provides installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, professional training and related services."

The alliance with Fortesys is part of Cyberoam's expansion plan for the region, she said. "Fortesys with its unique range of security, Internet resiliency, wireless, dynamic caching, application delivery and application performance monitoring solutions offerings will enable Cyberoam to reach deeper into the Malaysian markets."

Earlier in June, Jacintha said that the newly industrialised economy of Malaysia held huge potential for network security appliances. "Malaysia's adoption of smart devices such as smartphones and tablets has increased rapidly. Organisations in Malaysia have adopted new age technologies such as cloud computing, mobility and big data in a big way."

Kevin Kual, sales director, Fortesys Integration, said, "We have been serving clients efficiently through our 'always available' support and technical expertise, and by adding value at every possible step for our customers. With a solution as comprehensive and unique as Cyberoam, we hope to penetrate deeper into the market and establish new benchmarks of quality in security, eventually emerging as market leaders."

"Cyberoam's experience in the Next Generation Security solutions arena will enable Fortesys to grow their reach into newer markets, so I see it as a perfect match for both companies," said Kual.
