Otterbox has announced its range of cases for the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone.

US accessories company Otterbox is well known for producing some of the best protective smartphone cases on the market and it has just announced its range for the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone in Australia.

The company has unveiled a total of three cases for the Galaxy S4, ranging from the flagship Defender Series, a rugged, multi-layered case designed for shock protection, to the entry-level Reflex series, a lightweight, two-piece case.

Otterbox says the flagship Defender case ($59.95) "protects the phone against drops, shocks and the hardest impact." It has a triple-layer of protection consisting of a built-in screen protector, a polycarbonate shell and a silicon-skinned outer layer with port and plug covers.

The case provides dirt and dust protection but not water resistance. Otterbox also includes a swivel-style belt clip holster in the sales package.

The Defender case will add significant bulk to the Galaxy S4 but it is widely considered to be one of the best protective smartphone cases on the market.

The mid-range Commuter case for the Galaxy S4 ($39.95) features a slimmer design but retains a dual-layer form, while the Reflex case ($34.95) is constructed with a soft material surround that's moulded into a hard polycarbonate shell.

In addition to the new Defender, Commuter and Relfex cases for the Galaxy S4, Otterbox has also announced availability of four screen protectors for the device. The screen protectors range from $19.95 to $29.95 in price.

The new Otterbox cases and screen protectors for the Galaxy S4 are available now in Australia from a variety of retailers including Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile stores, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Domayne, Allphones, Fone Zone, Telechoice and Masters Home Improvement.
