Oracle has announced the availability in Malaysia of its latest ZFS3 storage appliance system, featuring next generation engineering to deliver operational and business performance, said the business applications provider.
In Malaysia, Oracle's New ZS3 Storage series comes with two models which are the ZS3-2 and ZS3-4 to cater both mid and high end storage demands in the market, said Oracle's Asean storage product director, Leong Kam Hong, speaking in Kuala Lumpur.
Leong said some of the unique features of Oracle ZS3 Storage include the Hybrid Columnar Compression for greater efficiency and Oracle Intelligent Storage Protocol for dynamic database tuning.
"The new Oracle's New ZS3 Storage series is Next Generation Application Engineered Storage that offers significantly improved operational efficiencies and enhanced business application performance at a much lower price compared to other similar storage products in the market," he said.
"ZS3 is an application-aware storage system, which can also operate in highly virtualised environments, and offers dynamic automation that can help reduce time spent on tuning database and storage for optimal performance," said Leong.
"For example, the ZS3 Series features an enhanced Hybrid Storage Pools cache design delivering a 4x increase in space efficiency for better caching of critical data and write performance enhancements that deliver a consistent low-latency response time," he said.
"In addition, Oracle ZS3-4 delivers new world performances and 4x better price performance for financial processing, database queries, and video streaming applications. It also delivers world-record file system responsiveness at a 4x lower price than NetApp, ideal for high performance virtual server environments," said Leong.
"Oracle's ability to deliver Application Engineered Storage is a major differentiator which enables customers to maximise performance, efficiency and productivity at significantly lower cost than the competition. Oracle's new ZS3 storage appliances demonstrate the raw power and value that hardware and software engineered systems can provide," he said.
