Networking provider NETGEAR has been ranked as the world's number one for selling the most units under RM15,000 (US$4,933) in NAS (network attached storage)/unified storage system sectors for 2011 by analyst firm Gartner.
Gartner's recently published report - Market Share: Network-Attached Storage/Unified Storage Worldwide 2011 - placed NETGEAR alongside the largest traditional enterprise storage vendors in the world, said NETGEAR ASEAN's regional director, Soo Kean Thai.
"Last year alone more than 100,000 businesses selected NETGEAR storage solutions, choosing NETGEAR more often than any other NAS vendor in the world," said Soo, adding that the company also moved up two spots to become the sixth largest overall NAS vendor in terms of worldwide revenue.
"In addition, Gartner reports that NETGEAR's revenue growth rate was more than double the market average in the RM76,000 (US$24,992) unified storage segment and nearly twice the overall iSCSI market average," he said.
"We are very pleased to have Gartner's confirmation of our market leadership as it shows that NETGEAR is aligned with the needs of customers and channel partners evaluating solutions at the entry-level unified storage segment," said Soo.
