NEC Asia Pacific, an IT and network solutions provider and systems integrator, has unveiled its plan to drive the adoption of its Smart Energy solutions and services across Asia so as to achieve its vision of a low-carbon society.
NEC will do so by partnering with businesses across varying industries to fuse their respective specialties and expertise, while continuing to provide comprehensive products and solutions in areas pertaining to Energy Management & Control, Energy Storage and Smart Grids.
Aside from this, NEC has shown its commitment to its vision through various ways:
- NEC Asia set up the Smart Energy Business Unit in Singapore last year to further promote the Smart Energy business. It has developed a Meter Data Portal that allows consumers to optimise their business operations while monitoring their energy consumption in a cost-effective way.
- It has commercialised electrodes for automotive lithium-ion rechargeable batteries and small-scale energy storage systems, as well as its cloud-based services
- It is developing a Li-ion based Energy Storage Systems (ESS) that specifically target the telecom and enterprise verticals.
"As energy demand is expected to increase, NEC's strong focus on the smart energy and ICT business will thus contribute to the realisation of a society where energy is stored and applied wisely through technologies that enable smart homes, offices, buildings and smart cities," says Nobuaki Yoshioka, general manager (Energy System Development Division) of the Smart Energy Business Unit at NEC Corporation, Japan.
NEC will be showcasing its complete Smart Energy Management and introducing its Building Energy Management System (BEMS) at the upcoming Power & Electricity World Asia 2013.
