IT solutions distributor M-Security Technology (M.Tech) has been appointed to distribute Sourcefire's cyber security solutions, which include next generation intrusion prevention systems, throughout Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region.
Sourcefire Malaysia country manager Ivan Wen said M.Tech will now offer security solutions that include Sourcefire Next-Generation IPS (NGIPS), NGIPS with Application Control, Sourcefire Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW), and FireAMP Advanced Malware Protection. "We are delighted to partner with M.Tech, which works with some of the top security vendors in the market. M.Tech's established presence in Malaysia will allow Sourcefire to introduce our offerings to new potential markets in order to meet the emerging IT security demands."
Wen said that according to IDC's December 2012 Asia Pacific Security Appliance Quarterly Tracker, the continuous maturing of the Asia Pacific IT security market has seen a growing number of highly publicised security breaches and threat events. In response, the IT security appliance market in Asia Pacific is set to reach US$2.8 billion by 2015 in customer revenue, making Asia Pacific the quickest and fastest growing region in the world.
"We are pleased about the opportunity to expand our partnership across the Asia Pacific region with Sourcefire to include Malaysia as well as Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, India and Hong Kong," said M.Tech Malaysia country manager, Tan Chong Huat. "Sourcefire's security offerings will be a valuable addition to M.Tech's array of IT security solutions."
M.Tech is a regional distributor of IT security, application delivery network and video communication solutions in countries including Malaysia.
