To meet the changing demands of Internet usage at home, Malaysian telco Maxis said it is focusing on more affordable wireless and broadband Internet plans for Malaysians.
"We realise that customers' needs in terms of how they use Internet at home is changing," said Maxis joint chief operating officer, Mark Dioguardi. "With information, entertainment and news being enjoyed by more people across multiple devices at home, and increased availability of affordable Internet devices from PCs to tablets, it is not surprising that consumers' demand for wi-fi at home is growing."
Dioguardi said the new range of Maxis Home Wireless Internet and Maxis Wireless Broadband plans start from as low as RM59 (US$19.27) a month for a Home Wireless Internet plan, or RM48 (US$15.68) a month for a Wireless Broadband plan
"Our Home Wireless Internet service brings wi-fi to more than five million households across Malaysia with plug and play convenience," he said. "To enable more families to share the joys of Internet at home, we are now introducing two new affordable packages with higher quotas."
"Consumers who need Internet on-the-go can choose the Maxis Wireless Broadband service which provides them the convenience of being connected whether they are at home, at the office or on-the-go," said Dioguardi. "We have the widest offering of free high performance modems to suit consumers' needs and lifestyle. Furthermore, there is no imposed speed limit on our new Wireless Broadband plans so consumers can enjoy the best speeds based on modem and network capability."
He said that Maxis Postpaid customers would be able to enjoy ease of payment with a single bill, integrated with their Maxis Postpaid Mobile service, for both the Home Wireless Internet and Wireless Broadband services. Those subscribing to the 28GB and 48GB packages will get to enjoy additional RM10 (US$3.27) discount on their monthly fee for these packages. "We are pleased to be bringing additional value and convenience to our postpaid customers as the leading integrated operator in Malaysia."
"Our new and enhanced Wireless Broadband and Home Wireless Internet plans complement the Home Fibre Internet service of 10, 20 or 30 Mbps which is made available to 1.3 million homes and offices in Klang Valley as well as selected locations in Penang, Johor Bahru, Melaka and Ipoh," added Dioguardi. "Now, with the refreshed Maxis' Home Wireless Internet and Wireless Broadband plans, we are pleased to be offering the best range of Internet offerings that suits consumers' needs and lifestyle wherever they are."
