Malaysian web hosting firm Exabytes Networks has announced a mobility-enhanced solution called 'EBiz Power Hosting' for small and medium business entrepreneurs across the Asean region.

Exabytes Networks [Exabytes] chief executive officer, Chan Kee Siak, said:  "EBiz Power Hosting plan is an all-in-one web-hosting package for companies to set up their own business domain, immediately run e-commerce activities, and address all their IT security concerns in a single sign up."

"Capitalising on the growing mobility trends, Exabytes' EBiz Power Hosting offering has incorporated an intuitive mobile website builder function called the 'GoMobi,' which allows small and medium businesses or entrepreneurs to reach out to the growing smartphone consumer market in Malaysia," said Chan.

He said the new functions allow Exabytes customers to set up a mobile version of their main Internet website compatible with various mobile operating systems such as iOS, BlackBerry, Android/Chrome and Windows.

In addition, a German-based enterprise class web-based email and communication tool known as 'Open-Exchange OX App Suite' will help to integrate email, documents, office productivity, scheduling and social media.

"The six main features of the Exabytes EBiz Power Hosting plan essential for online website set-up and operations are therefore GoMobi (Mobile Site Builder), SiteLock (Web security), cPanel (control panel with GUI), OpenXchange (Groupware for tasks, contacts and emails management), Attracta SEO (Search Engine Optimisation tool) and SiteBuilder (DIY web design software)," said Chan.

"No doubt that the Internet world moves very quickly, with changing challenges and competition. So instead of spending resources to manage the business' online representation - in its website appearance, network traffic, security and hosting accessibility issues, business owners really should focus more on their product and service marketing strategy for better chances of e-commerce survival," he said.

"Exabytes' EBiz Power Hosting plan was developed with these business concerns in mind; as we are committed to bring the most value-added solutions to our customers so that they can expect to have all their web hosting and online business taken care of at minimal costs," said Chan, adding that fees start from RM5 (US$1.52) per user per month.

Company targets

Established in Penang, in 2004, Exabytes has web hosting market share of 26 percent, according to Chan, who added: "Exabytes' EBiz Power Hosting plan is in line with the company's continuous effort to bring the business to touch 70,000 customers and a group revenue of RM20 million [US$6.08 million] by 2014."

"Web hosting is the core business of Exabytes, which contributes up to 90 percent of our business revenue," he said. "The remaining income is from the ecommerce business division (EasydotMy). Exabytes' revenue breakdown remains at 75 percent from the local market, and 25 percent from overseas," adding that the EBiz Power Hosting offering will bring us more new customers.

"The company's customer base has consistently grown over 10 percent on a year-on-year basis for the past three years consecutively. To date, the company has more than 65,000 customers across 121 countries worldwide and is geared towards achieving RM20 million in group revenue and 70,000 customers by 2014."
