Productivity solutions company Microsoft has reaffirmed its commitment and support to Malaysia's recently announced 11MP [11th Malaysia Plan], which is its next step in the aspiration to become a fully developed digital economy by 2020.
Microsoft Malaysia's managing director K Raman, who recently joined the company, was among senior executives at Microsoft's participation at the recent Asean SME Showcase and Conference [ASSC] 2015 held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 26-28 May 2015.
The company's participation at the event, which was officiated by Malaysia's deputy prime minister YAB Tan Sri Dato' Haji Muhyiddin bin Haji Mohd Yassin, focused on its 'mobile-first, cloud-first' vision.
A Microsoft statement recognised Malaysia's small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as "the backbone of the nation's economy," which would be able to achieve more with productivity solutions and better participate in the government's Eleventh Malaysia Plan (11MP) to push Malaysia towards the end state of being an advanced economy through "Growing Dynamic SMEs - a key Focus Area under one of 11MP's six strategic thrusts."
