Malaysian SMEs at Communicasia 2011

PHOTO - Visitors of CommunicAsia 2011 in Singapore had the opportunity to witness exhibits of innovation produced in Cyberjaya by a delegation of four Malaysian SMEs.

 

Malaysian cybercity Cyberjaya's landowner Cyberview led a delegation of four Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to the recent regional ICT fair Communicasia 2011 in Singapore.

Cyberview managing director Encik Ir. Hafidz Hashim said the four SMEs invited to join Cyberview's delegation to CommunicAsia were online solutions developer and business hosting provider First Online, global virtual network operator IX Telecom, SoftSolvers Technologies - customer relationship management (CRM) software provider - and WoodWing Asia Pacific, which develops tablet application publishing solutions for more than 500 publishing companies worldwide.

"All four SMEs unveiled their new products at CommunicAsia 2011," said Hashim. "With 81 percent of the exhibitors coming from overseas, CommunicAsia is seen as the global trade event for ICT in Asia."

"Cyberview plays an important role in nurturing and developing SMEs in Cyberjaya as the development spearhead provides training, facilitation and platforms for SMEs to grow beyond the confines of Cyberjaya," he said. "Knowledge-based SMEs are prospering in Cyberjaya through the special ecosystem, guidance and incentives provided by Cyberview."

"We also had the opportunity to network with Singaporean Business Associations (SiTF and iDA) with the cooperation of Matrade," said Hashim. "Our strategic booth location near the Malaysian Pavilion enabled us to engage the visitors' attention as they passed by our exhibits."

"Being the preferred address for ICT, multimedia and innovation companies in Malaysia and Malaysia's first Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) international cybercity, Cyberjaya seeks to become the regional growth engine for global innovation, multimedia development, creative content generation, and shared services outsourcing (SSO)," he said. He added that since its inception as Malaysia's own 'Silicon Valley' in 1996, Cyberjaya has since become host to more than 500 companies including global multinationals such as HP, DELL, Fujitsu, Motorola, AMD, DHL, KPMG, HSBC, Nokia, Shell, BMW, and Ericsson.
