Khoo said that the company's efforts in Malaysia has resulted in growth across all regions within the first four months of the calendar year (January - April 2015), with "hyper-growth" successfully taking place in the central region. "This puts Lenovo in a strong position as the current front-runners in mobile computing, with more than 28 percent of market share in the central region."
He added that Lenovo was confident that Malaysia's automotive, health, logistics, agriculture and education will continue to excel.
A company statement said that on global level, in a seasonally slow quarter with significant currency impacts, revenue was US$11.3 billion, up 21 percent year-over-year. 'Lenovo's operational excellence delivered expectation-beating quarterly net income of US$100 million; with better balanced of revenue where 64 percent was generated from PCs, 25 percent from Mobile and nine percent from the Enterprise segment as compared to the previous year where the PC segment made-up a total 83 percent of the total revenue."
The results also showed Southeast Asia, Malaysia and Singapore experienced the largest year-on-year growth across the three business segments within the Southeast Asia region, continued the statement.
