Screen capture - KL Convention Centre application
The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre has launched a new mobile application to allow users to access its revamped website from their smartphones, it said.
Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) deputy general manager Alan Pryor said the new mobile application follows the recent upgrade of 40MB of its complimentary wi-fi service at the centre.
"To tap into the growing interest in the social media arena, a QR (quick response) code has been developed to provide instant access to the website within seconds from the mobile phone. The code will be featured extensively across the Centre's collateral as an additional marketing platform," said Pryor.
"In addition to the content rich information on the current website, the mobile app also features an interactive locator that provides directions and displays a map to the Centre from the user's location. Users can also access the daily weather in Kuala Lumpur," he said.
"With the mobile app, our users will enjoy the ease of access to up-to-date relevant information on the Centre anywhere, anytime," added Pryor.
The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) is a component of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) and is managed and operated by Convex Malaysia, a joint-venture company between KLCC (Holdings) and AEG Ogden, Australia. The Centre has ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications, EarthCheck Bronze status (environment) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points Certification (HACCP) recognition, the international food safety system for international convention facilities and five-star hotels. It is also the first in Asia; and one of just 12 AIPC centres worldwide, to receive the 'Gold' AIPC Quality Standards certification.
