Adobe and ITE (Institute of Technological Education) have commenced the third phase of a partnership to enhance student digital literacy and creativity skills, the two entities announced on 4 September.
Software giant Adobe and Singapore's tertiary institute ITE aim to develop students through the incorporation of multimedia technology in the institute's core curriculum, according to the statement.
"Digital literacy is the cornerstone of preparing students for success," said Vicky Skipp, managing director of Adobe systems for Southeast Asia.
What they get
With signing of the 3 year Memorandum of Understanding on 4 September, Adobe will be providing reference books and reading materials while ITE will be licensed to leverage on Adobe's curriculum.
For faculty, Adobe will focus on provision of training to enhance teaching skills in multimedia technology.
The partnership will see ITE using the Adobe curriculum as an academic requirement for students receiving Nitec and Higher Nitec certifications.
Students will also obtain the Adobe Certified Associates (ACA) certification through their coursework. 320 students and staff have already received ACA certification from Adobe since the beginning of the alliance.
"The use of tools and technology which nurture creative expression is a very crucial aspect of preparing our students for success," said Principal of ITE College West Dr Yek Tiew Ming.
The collaboration will stack additional support on the ITE-Adobe Resource Centre which opened in 2009.
