The next generation iPhone will have a 4inch screen according to Japanese technology site Macotakara.
Macotakara reports that an 'Asian source' claims Hitachi Displays and Sony Mobile Display Corp. have begun shipping 4inch LCD screens to Apple for a new device, and LCD screens for the iPad 3. The iPhone 4S has a 3.5in display, but many of its competitors are launching smartphones with much larger screens.
These fresh reports match up with rumours we heard before the iPhone 4S was launched in October, which claimed that the iPhone 5 would have a larger edge-to-edge screen.
Other recent iPhone 5 rumours suggest that the iPhone 5 will be longer than the iPhone 4S, and that the iPhone 5 was just months away from being announced, but Steve Jobs pulled the plug on it.
