Enterprise resource solutions firm Intermec has announced its next generation of rugged mobile computers, which offer Malaysian businesses high performing mobile computing options, especially for distribution, manufacturing and retail operations.
"The CK3X and CK3R models expand upon the popular CK3B for continued best-in-class operations to support customer needs for increased productivity, flexibility and exceptional workforce performance," said Intermec senior vice president, mobile solutions business unit, Earl Thompson.
"The new series is designed specifically with the future in mind, the CK3 Next Generation Series is an exceptional choice for customers who need to support ever-changing data capture requirements and future-proof their supply chain, DCs (distribution centres) and in-store retail operations," said Thompson.
"The CK3 Next Generation Series is comprised of two models - the CK3X and CK3R - which utilise a 1GHZ OMAP architecture to optimise workforce performance through industry-leading battery life, enhanced barcode scanning, superior device health monitoring and broad compliance for emerging industry standards such as HTML5," he said.
"The CK3X is optimised for warehouse operations and is the perfect migration option from the current CK3B, while the CK3R is optimised for light industrial and retail front of store applications," said Thompson. "Maintaining the current CK3B form factor and rugged design, legacy applications and backwards-compatible accessories allows customers to seamlessly migrate to the latest technology without an additional investment in chargers, docking stations or scan handles."
"Both the CK3X and CK3R make transitioning from other mobile computers easy with device configuration tools like CloneNGo - Intermec's breakthrough device provisioning - which makes it easy to "clone" device settings from a single master unit to an unlimited number of devices," he said.
"For business critical mobile applications the need for mobile devices with reliable battery performance, data capture configuration options, robust security and enhanced processing power to support increasingly sophisticated applications in a lightweight ergonomic yet rugged design is critical," said VDC Research vice president, mobile & wireless practice, David Krebs.
"Intermec's CK3 Next Generation family of rugged handheld devices delivers these capabilities and is well designed to support mobile applications across a variety of rigorous warehouse, logistics and retail environments," said Krebs.
