Inmarsat launches Fleet Media service to deliver on-board entertainment|

Besides entertainment, this new service also aims to keep seafarers connected to the outside world and their respective homes, improving their quality of life while aboard a vessel.

Mobile satellite communications services provider, Inmarsat, announced today its partnership with NT Digital Partners - a joint venture between content agency Spafax and Swank Motion Pictures Inc - to launch Fleet Media, a service that delivers the most recent viewing content to those at sea.

A comprehensive catalogue of Hollywood and international blockbusters and television programming, along with sports and news content will be available to crew over the Inmarsat network for on-demand, offline viewing.

This means that those on board commercial shipping vessels will no longer have to wait until they reach dry land to catch up on the latest films, sports and news.

Besides entertainment, this new service also aims to keep seafarers connected to the outside world and their respective homes, improving their quality of life while aboard a vessel.

Fleet Media is currently available on XpressLink and will soon be available across the wider Inmarsat Maritime portfolio.
