Leading distributor, Ingram Micro, was named Trend Micro's Distributor of the Year for 2013, at the recent Trend Micro Partner Conference in Sydney.
It is the second year in a row Ingram has won the award.

Accepting the award, Ingram Micro's Senior Business Manager Enterprise Software, Lee Welch, it was a great reflection of the strong partnership that had developed between Trend Micro and Ingram Micro.
"We've been working really well together and doing some very innovative things," he said. "We've been focusing strongly on enabling and supporting our Trend Micro resellers with programs such as our Security Pass education program, and that's proven to be a very successful strategy."
Security Pass, first launched in 2013, is an online, sales-enablement and product-training program jointly developed by Ingram Micro and Trend Micro. It is designed to introduce resellers to Trend Micro security solutions, help them to build a pipeline of sales prospects, and provide support in the way of collateral, training and other resources to help them close sales.
The first Security Pass program focused on Trend Micro's Deep Security solution for physical, virtual, and Cloud servers. Now in its second iteration, Security Pass is helping launch and introduce resellers to Trend Micro's new SMB-focused Worry Free suite — Worry Free Business Security Professional.
Welch said the Security Pass programs were very successful with resellers. "We have more than 200 participants in Security Pass currently and feedback from participants is that the program has been extremely useful in providing in-depth information on both Deep Security and the Worry Free Business Security suite and particularly in helping our SMB resellers to develop deeper expertise in the security space.
Ingram Micro and Trend Micro are supporting the Security Pass programme with an innovative incentive programme. Resellers can earn Micro Chips for each of the program milestones they achieve. They can then use these Micro Chips to bid for prizes in a series of online auctions.
