The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), together with several Singapore companies and Institutes of Higher Learning, have collaborated to put up a Smart Nation showcase at IExperience.
Located at the Information and Communications Technology Experience Centre at Esplanade Xchange, IExperience aims to showcase the possibilities and benefits of Smart Nation innovations and services to the public and businesses through a range of interactive exhibits and applications.
Besides highlighting the convenience and benefits that technology can bring to citizens, IExperience also serves as a place where community groups can visit to acquaint and familiarise themselves with the Smart Nation vision.
The IExperience is organised into five main zones that relate closely to our daily lives, namely Smart Living, Smart Workspace, Smart District, Smart Data and Smart Discovery. There, visitors can learn about the possibilities of working and living in a Smart Nation through guided or self-discovery tours.
Depending on each visitor's level of interest and background, the guided tour format will provide visitors with an in-depth understanding and hands-on experience with the various Smart Nation services. The self-discovery format allows visitors to walk through the centre and try out the exhibits at their own pace.
"First opened in June 2010, IExperience was set up to educate the public about Singapore's Next Generation Nationwide Broadband Network, and the possible services on that platform. Now, five years on, it has a new Smart Nation mission: to bring the possibilities and benefits of Smart Nation services to life," said Steve Leonard, Executive Deputy Chairman of IDA.
"IExperience aims to create awareness, excite and engage industry, government, businesses and citizens on the convenience and possibilities when everyone and everything are connected everywhere all the time," he added.
