HTC's forthcoming HTC One (M8) smartphone will be offered in Malaysia exclusively by Maxis following a strategic partnership, it said.
Maxis head of consumer business Dushyan Vaithiyanathan said the new device will be available from 8 May onwards at all Maxis Centres and exclusive partners through Malaysia.
"We are excited to be in an exclusive agreement with HTC in being the only local telecom to offer HTC devices, starting with this sleek new smartphone," said Vaithiyanathan. "This strategic agreement with HTC is testament to our strong commitment to delivering high quality devices to our customers with the best value. Furthermore, they will be able to enjoy the best mobile experience at low monthly commitment fees, on the best and widest 4G network."
He said the new smartphone is to be offered with a postpaid plan, from as low as RM1,399 [US$430] with the TalkMore 78 plan and 24-month contract.

Vaithiyanathan said the exclusive agreement with HTC includes offering "a new, best-in-class after sales service, where customers get to experience one of the fastest guaranteed turnaround time for warranty claims via any Maxis outlets."
He said the HTC One (M8) is the evolution of the award-winning HTC One, which includes a high quality metal unibody with a Smart Sensor Hub, Motion Launch controls, Duo Camera technology and HTC BoomSound.
