HTC One / M7 leaked image ahead of launch

Chris Martin | Feb. 20, 2013
Hours before the scheduled launch of the HTC One / M7, fresh images of the device have been leaked online. Here are the HTC One / M7 leaked images.

Update: Just hours before today's planned 3pm launch of the new flagship HTC One / M7 smartphone, leaked images of the device have emerged online. Technology website recombu.com posted the below image of the HTC One / M7 earlier today.

If this leaked image is legitimate (it looks as though it is!), then you can expect the HTC One / M7 to look very iPhone-y. We can guess specs from an image as well as anyone can, and by looking at this leaked image of the HTC One / M7, it's safe to say the new HTC smartphone will be available to buy with either a silver/white or black finish. Interestingly the smartphone seems to have speakers on both the top and bottom of the screen, presumably to offer an enhanced stereo speaker effect when playing videos with the screen turned to landscape.

Also, the new HTC One / M7's homescreen could be a glimpse as to what HTC's new Sense 5.0 will look like. Other interesting features include the continuing support of Beats Audio and what looks to be a new rear-facing camera lens.

HTC is holding a launch event in London today for its new Onesmartphone so here's everything we know.

The HTC One will be the firm's new flagship smartphone and will replace the HTC One X and One X+. The handset was originally leaked as the M7 but will apparently launch as simply the HTC One - confusing, we know.

It seems that HTC has taken a leaf out of Samsung's book and decided not to announce the phone at Mobile World Congress (MWC) next week in Barcelona among the hustle and bustle of rival vendors. Instead, all the attending media will be purely focused on HTC's new piece of shiny kit.

The launch event will take place in London later today at 3pm UK time.

There's little detail on how much this smartphone will cost but US prices have been estimated at in excess of $600. It's more than likely the HTC One will cost at least £500 SIM-free in the UK. This would match the Sony Xperia Z which costs around £520.

HTC One / HTC M7: Design

There have been a couple of leaked images of the HTC One. The first suggesting a design similar to HTC's Windows Phone 8X and the second looking somewhat more like the iPhone 5 running Android.

It's anyone's guess as to whether either of these images are the real deal but the second image comes from a source which has accurately leaked smartphones in the past.
