Hewlett-Packard has developed the HP TX1, a POS solution that is tablet-based and for small businesses, including those in retail and hospitality.
A press statement by the Palo Alto, California-based vendor said the HP TX1 combines the 10.1 inch HP ProPad 600 with a sturdy stand and essential POS accessories to enable small businesses to smoothly complete sales transactions.
The stand securely holds the tablet upright and also allows it to turn and tilt with ease to capture a sales transaction.
Intel Atom, Windows 8.1
According to HP, the HP ProPad 600 runs on an Intel Atom Quad-Core processor and Windows 8.1 operating system.
It has a long battery life and it offers up to 64 GB of storage.
The tablet model is then bundled with a compact receipt printer, cash drawer, USB hub with an optional barcode scanner to enable a complete POS functionality.
The HP TX1 will be available in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Philippines and Hong Kong this May.
