Hong Kong's average peak connection speed of 65.4 Mbps is ranked as number one globally and in the Asia-Pacific, according to the Akamai Q3 2013 State of the Internet Report, whose results it made available only recently.
The report by the Cambridge, Massachusets-based Internet content delivery network provider said two other countries in the Asia-Pacific made it to the top three in the world with regard to average peak connections speeds.
The other two were South Korea at 63.6 Mbps and Japan at 52.0 Mbps.
Singapore, with its average peak connection of 50.1 Mbps, made it to the list of the top five globally.
The report made no mention of the country that had also made it to the list of the top five.
