Hong Kong firm creates intelligent advertising platform

Teresa Leung | July 10, 2013
Local tech startups need to look beyond Hong Kong, said Shylesh Karuvath, co-founder and CEO of Cenique Infotainment--winner of the Best Business (Product) Bronze Award at the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2013.

CWHK: Do you think Hong Kong is a great place for a tech startup?

SK: Hong Kong is an international hub within Asia, and a place where you can start a business easily. However, [Hong Kong] is a costly location and a small marketplace. To further grow our business, we need to look into overseas markets.

CWHK: How do you encourage your staffers to innovate?

SK: We have regular brainstorming sessions and rewards for innovations--such as profit sharing.

CWHK: What's your future plan?

SK: We plan to integrate technologies like facial and gesture-based interaction to the IntelliAd platform. This allows our customers to promote their products in different ways--such as giving rewards or coupons to people who do certain actions in front of screens.
