To meet the demands of enterprise mobile computing in Malaysia, ICT business solutions provider Fujitsu has launched a new business tablet.
The executive class tablet - STYLISTIC Q550 - is the world's first executive slate PC to address business and security needs of enterprise users, according to Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific vice president, product marketing and engineering, Lim Teck Sin, speaking in Kuala Lumpur, mid-December 2011.
"In Malaysia, STYLISTIC Q550 will serve as an end-user touchpoint to complement Fujitsu's suite of enterprise desktop solutions, allowing for Fujitsu channel partners to creatively tailor comprehensive ICT solutions to Malaysian businesses," said Lim.
Lim said the tablet included a variety of technologies such as biometric fingerprint ID authentication, smart card reader, embedded security chip and encrypted SSD that enable the development of more robust enterprise-level IT security for the tablet in business work usage.
"With more than 20 years experience in building mobile computers for enterprise use, we understand that businesses need secure mobile devices that provide advanced integration into existing IT infrastructures," he said.
"Many tablets in the market today don't come anywhere close in addressing the business and security needs," said Lim. "This is the reason that hold enterprises back from fully embracing the latest mobile computing technology for their business usage. So this is the STYLISTIC Q550's exact sweet spot - being a specially designed tablet that is optimised for the mobile working professionals and executives."
Malaysian channel partners
Fujitsu Malaysia president, Charles Lew, said: "The availability of the STYLISTIC Q550 allowed Fujitsu channel partners to creatively bundle the Fujitsu Suite of Products as unique and highly-relevant IT solutions for their enterprise customers in the various local segments."
"STYLISTIC Q550 was designed to include all crucial working features that businesses require to accommodate their various daily operations within an extensive range of business scenarios," said Lew. "We see end-mobile computing as an important element in business environments today, so providing an enterprise-level mobile device in the STYLISTIC Q550 is our way to empower our SELECT partners to better fulfill the market's demand for secure, compatible, and tailored IT business solutions."
"Currently, Fujitsu Malaysia's network of SELECT partners contributes a significant 60 percent of total sales to Fujitsu's platform products," he added. "In 2012, We plan to increase to a minimum base of 30 partners in Malaysia, while increasing the percentage contribution by 30 percent through the formalisation of more local IT distributor partnerships."
