Malaysia's national infosecurity specialist CyberSecurity Malaysia has launched its first MyCyberSecurity Clinic [MyCSC] as part of a new initiative, which includes the Entrepreneurship Development programme, to help the country's digital community.

During the opening of the first MyCSC outlet located in Seri Kembangan by Dr Ebin Ebin, the minister of Science, Technology and Innovation [MOSTI], said the clinic is a 'touch-point' for people to get specialised services related to cyber security. "It is also a platform to help people, especially Internet users get emergency assistance services and channel report cyber incidents and cyber security threats to the Help Center Cyber999 handled by CyberSecurity Malaysia."

Dr Ebin said MyCSC has been developed by CyberSecurity Malaysia to provide cyber security related services such as digital forensics services ranging from data recovery, hard drive repair (hard disk), data sanitization and advice on issues related to cyber security and Internet.

In addition, the minister launched the MyCSC Entrepreneurship Development Programme to drive a network expansion program of the clinic through a MyCyberSecurity Clinic Licensing System framework.

According to Dr. Ebin Ebin, the programme was expected to produce more new entrepreneurs in science and technology, particularly in the ICT sector, as well as provide employment to more Malaysians throughout the country.

In his opening remarks, General Tan Sri Dato 'Seri Mohd Azumi Mohamed (Retired), the chairman of the Board of CyberSecurity Malaysia said the MyCSC would provide many benefits, which include being able to solve the data loss and recovery issues by Malaysian users.

Meanwhile, the Entrepreneurial Development Program MyCSC be seen as a process of technology transfer expertise beneficial to Malaysians who are directly involved in the programme.
