Dimension Data helps major Malaysian WiMAX provider achieve 40% cost savings

ICT services and solutions company Dimension Data, which has recently been selected by a Malaysian WiMAX and 4G provider to manage the organisation's entire WiMAX Core network, has helped achieve operating cost savings of 40 percent.

A statement released by the client company, the telecommunications arm of a utility group serving more than 12 million customers worldwide, said that Dimension Data Managed Services Enterprise Networks will ensure that the organisation's service continues to be the most preferred 4G network in the country.   

"We have been facing difficulties in finding the right ICT services provider that has the expertise to manage a WiMAX Core Network infrastructure," said a company spokesperson. "Dimension Data has demonstrated their capabilities not only through management of the infrastructure but also with their proven track record in Managed Services.  We are confident that they will help accelerate our business further."

Choo said Dimension Data's team is managing the core elements of IT infrastructure and is already helping the client to meet its business goals of a 40 percent reduction in Opex spending, as well as improved overall business efficiency and customer experience over its WiMAX and 4G services.

Long term business goals

Choo added that Dimension Data has assigned teams of engineers to monitor and manage the critical core network performance round the clock.

A team was also placed on-site to ensure quick response time in preventing any server downtime, he said. As a result, the client has successfully achieved its goals of a 40 percent cost savings through Dimension Data's Managed Services offerings. Its infrastructure recorded a reduced risk in network failure and improved network performance to meet their ever increasing demands.

 A recent survey conducted also showed that their customers' experience with network has significantly improved.

Choo said that the suite of hardware and technical expertise provided by Dimension Data has helped reform the client's business, allowing it to off-load its day-to-day IT management responsibilities to improve operations.
