Dimension Data China will design and implement a new IP-based converged communications network for global biopharmaceutical services provider Parexel China.
This network will link Parexel to its various operations worldwide spanning 10 offices across five countries.
With an aim to connect all of its branch operations, Parexel was searching for a networking partner that boasted a consistent on-the-ground expertise in the countries where the company operates.
Parexel also wanted to upgrade its network infrastructure as it expanded into emerging markets like China and other parts of Asia. The company decided upon Dimension Data to guide it in the deployment of a company-wide converged voice and data IP infrastructure.
"Parexel and Dimension Data share a common philosophy of helping our clients address their operational and business needs with the deployment of the right solutions and skills in the field," said Francis Yip, general manager, Dimension Data China. "Through our extensive footprint in 49 countries across five continents, we are able to assign appropriate networking experts to locations where Parexel needed such skills to deliver the new solution quickly and effectively."
Reduce IT-related Opex
Parexel expects Dimension Data China's solution to reduce IT-related operating expenditure (Opex) by up to 30 percent while increasing employee efficiency by about 50 percent.
The new solution is a combination of Cisco IP Telephony and Security solutions, UPS storage system, Dimension Data Project Management and Uptime services.
"For many years, we were challenged and limited by our ability to deploy new technologies in the countries where we operated because we could not find a single partner with an excellent and consistent level of technical skills across our geographical footprint," said Vincent Yuan, IT manager, Parexel China.
"Dimension Data fills this void and allows us to reap the benefits of proven advanced technologies without having to incur the logistical costs of engaging foreign experts as and when we need them."
