Payment network provider AirPay today (5 August 2015) announced a partnership with CyberSource, a provider of e-commerce payment management services that is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Visa.
The partnership will allow users of Garena - an Internet firm that is the parent company of AirPay -- in Southeast Asia to securely pay for online games, telephone bills, utilities, and e-commerce transactions via their mobile phones.
AirPay will adopt CyberSource's fraud management tool, Decision Manager, to detect fraud faster, more accurately and with less manual intervention. According to CyberSource, the solution offers a comprehensive fraud-pattern visibility by screening inbound orders against data and correlations from more than 60 billion transactions processed by Visa and CyberSource annually, supplemented by 260 validation and correlation tests.
AirPay will also leverage CyberSource's payment tokenisation solution to offer greater payment security for Garena users. Since each token is a unique identifier that replaces the customer's payment data, repeat customers could pay for their next purchase with just one click. The customer's account number is removed from the merchant environment and stored on CyberSource's secure servers, thus increasing AirPay's and Garena's data security.
