Leading distributor, Ingram Micro Australia, has launched a new online software licensing tool — Click2License — on its Techlink ecommerce website.
Ingram Micro vice-president and managing director, Matt Sanderson, said Click2License represents a major step forward in making it easy for resellers to understand the various software licensing options available and order software licenses online.
"Click2License is a wizard-based tool that's fully integrated into Techlink," Sanderson said. "It helps resellers to identify the various licence options available to them, order licences online, create and save quotes, or request quotes from our Licensing Quote Desk experts. And resellers can also check on the ETA of licences that they've ordered."
Click2License has been developed over a number of months, and rolled out on some Ingram Micro ecommerce sites in other countries, where it has proven very successful.
In Australia, Click2License currently supports Microsoft's Open Business software licensing programme and Sanderson said Ingram Micro will add more of its software vendors to Click2License over the course of the year.
"Where we've rolled out Click2License in other countries, it's been extremely popular with resellers. It gives them the freedom to order and quote licenses online at a time that suits them. We think that's going to be particularly helpful for SMB resellers who often need to do things after-hours," Sanderson said.
Ingram Micro resellers can access Click2License in Techlink using their Techlink logins.
