Next-generation payment platform Braintree has expanded its Asia Pacific operations to offer its online payment platform v.zero to merchants in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
v.zero is an online payment platform that enables merchants to accept relevant payment methods. It also provides access to features such as frictionless buying, recurring billing, fraud tools, and multi-currency.
The move comes at a time when mobile commerce is set to take off worldwide, with Asia at the forefront of the revolution. According to Paypal's recent study, mobile commerce was predicted to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 42 percent from 2013 to 2016, which is thrice the rate of e-commerce.
"Mobile-first businesses and merchants thinking about expanding beyond their shores will see benefits as they scale on the Braintree platform as some of the fastest-growing successes such as Airbnb, and Uber," said Bill Ready, Braintree's CEO.
