Technology systems provider Bosch Malaysia is continuing the release of new technology tools across different sectors with the latest - a new range of high-precision measuring tools for professionals, which include Apple and Android applications

During the launch at the company's Malaysia training centre, Bosch Malaysia's managing director Simons Song demonstrated a new range of four Bosch Power measuring products for the professional trades sector - the GLM 40 Professional, GLM 100 C floor plan app, GLL3-15 Professional, GLL 5-50 Professional and D-tect 120 Professional.

"Over the years, Bosch's Power Tools Division has established itself as the market leader for power tools, accessories and trainings," said Song. "Much of this success is attributed to our ability to effectively introduce high-precision products that save time and money for our customers. Today, we are building upon this principle to bring even more innovative products."

During the last two years, generally upbeat about the national economy and new IT trends, Bosch has extended its scope, with offerings such as an IoT (Internet of Things) suite for measuring Big Data and what it called a 'revolutionary new conference system.'

Song said the new range - such as the GLM 40 Professional laser range finder - will effectively replace conventional measuring tape. "The device can measure up to 40 metres with a simple click of a button. Professional trades people can use the tool for various measuring applications such as length, continuous measurements, area, volume and Pythagoras measurements. This tool is also highly durable with the IP54 standard, making it dust and splash resistant."

With feature such as a memory bank, users can save up to 10 measurement values as well as an 'addition and subtraction' feature for the slightly advanced user, he said, adding that these tools would be "highly useful for professionals such as electricians, plumbers, contractors, real estate agents and many others."

 Floor planning app

"The GLM 100 C Professional is now the first laser measure from Bosch to connect power tool with an app," he said.  Dimensions and jobsites documentation can be captured using the measurement camera app and used with Bosch's GLM 100 C floor plan app for tablets and PCs.

Trades people and planners can use it to draw floor plans digitally on a scale of 1:50 instead of using pencils and papers. It can also be used to import existing plans - for example to check if they are correct, said Song. Results can be saved as a PDF and sent directly from jobsite by e-mail.

The GLM 100 C floor plan app is available as a free download in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
