Bank Mandiri's new app brings mobile payment to Indonesians

The Mandiri Mobile POS also offers the bank's existing POS features.

Bank Mandiri has launched a mobile payment solution to bring more payment alternatives to Indonesian merchants and consumers.

Called the Mandiri Mobile POS, the mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) solution is the result of the Indonesian bank's collaboration with mobile commerce platform provider goSwiff and e-payment provider Indopay.

According to the bank's senior executive vice president of transaction banking Frans Usthavia Rico, the solution offers "mobile payments along with the bank's existing point-of-sales (POS) features to merchants". "Mandiri Mobile POS is equipped with functions to take service orders, provide inventory and offer loyalty programmes for the merchant's loyal customers," he added.

For food and beverage merchants, the Mandiri Mobile POS allows customers to pay at their table instead of the checkout counter, thus preventing any card misuse by unauthorised parties. The solution also enables merchants to send proof of payment to customers via email or SMS instead of printing it out.

The Mandiri Mobile POS is now available on the App Store and Google Play.
