To distribute full portfolio of e-readers and tablets across the region

Electronics manufacturer, PocketBook, has signed Altech Computers as the sole distributor for its e-book readers in Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).

As part of the agreement, Altech will distribute PocketBook's entire product portfolio of e-readers based on E Ink technology and tablets using the Android operating system. This includes devices ranging from five to 10-inch form factors.

These e-readers will be supplied by Altech's network of business partners, including the A/NZ IT channel and retailers.

"Nowadays more and more people tend to prefer the digital format books to the printed ones," Altech managing director, Antony Sheen, said. "While some of the big brands are already represented in Australia, PocketBook's outstanding quality and price points make it a very competitive e-book vendor."

PocketBook head of sales and marketing, Evgenii Zaitsev, said the vendor will play a leading role in the e-book market as a result of the company's focus on quality, and its plans to expand its product range in 2013.
