Alcatel-Lucent is deploying its portfolio of Agile Optical Networking solutions to enable Thailand's Interlink Telecom Company to offer broadband services with speeds of up to 100 gigabits per second.
A press statement by Alcatel-Lucent said its deployment consists of its DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) solution with 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) platform integrated with Wavelength Tracker.
Railways and Road Routes
Interlink Telecom's network is along railways and major road routes across the country connecting to neighboring Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia and Malaysia.
The press statement said the solutions will give Interlink Telecom an integrated view of its network, making easier the monitoring of its performance and the identification of problem areas.
Deployment of the Agile-Lucent solutions will be to help enable interlink Telecom to support growing data demands of customers, which include mobile operators, enterprises, ISPs, banks and governments.
Deployment is now taking place this September, during the Phase 1 timeline for the project with 42 stations in Thailand's eastern and southern regions covered.
This includes Bangkok and Phuket.
