French communications giant Alcatel-Lucent has announced a new president and managing director to manage its Malaysian operations.

Effective immediately, Mohd Fazlin Shah Mohd Salleh is the new president and managing director for Alcatel-Lucent in Malaysia, said the company's president for Asia Pacific, Rajeev Singh-Molares, on 15 August 2011.

"I'm confident Fazlin will drive Alcatel-Lucent to where we want it to be in Malaysia," said Singh-Molares, adding that the new appointee would be responsible for sales, marketing, operations and strategies implementation in Malaysia.

Prior to this appointment, Mohd Fazlin was Alcatel-Lucent's senior sales director for Axiata & Celcom accounts. Mohd Fazlin joined Alcatel-Lucent in 2009. He brought with him 16 years of experience working in various multinational telecommunications network vendors. Within those years, he had experienced managing the accounts of almost all local telecommunications service providers.
