Airport security among fresh Malaysian security concerns: Unisys Security Index

Of 12 countries surveyed in latest 2014 Unisys Security Index, Malaysia records largest increase in overall security concern and second highest concern level behind only Mexico.

"The top areas of concern in this public opinion survey typically reflect recent events," he said. "With reports of gang violence and regional unrest in the media, Malaysians are aware of, and concerned about, these issues most.  Similarly the Malaysia Airlines tragedy means that airport security is top of mind."

The Unisys Security Index is an annual global study that provides insights into the attitudes of consumers on a wide range of issues related to national, personal, financial and Internet security.  In Malaysia 946 adults were polled during14-27 March 2014.  The Unisys Security Index surveys nearly 11,000 people in 12 countries: Australia, Brazil, Colombia, France, Germany, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, the U.K. and the U.S.
