Accenture appoints new Malaysia head

'A techie at heart,' Janet Yap has been named MD for Malaysia effective from 1 June 2014.

IT consulting and outsourcing firm Accenture has appointed Janet Yap as the new country managing director for Malaysia effective 1 June 2014, it said.

"Our clients are constantly adapting and evolving in this fast-paced business environment, and we respond by providing innovative solutions to help them meet their business needs," said Yap. "I'm looking forward to strengthening Accenture's relationship with them - and to continuing to invest in our employees, who embody our culture of innovation, collaboration and value creation."

Yap has a 26-year history with Accenture, and initially built her career in Systems Implementation and SAP consulting through projects across the Resources, Products and Communications, Media & Technology industries in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. Yap is also the inclusion and diversity lead for the Accenture office in Malaysia.
 
Yap graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Guelph in Canada. A company statement described her as 'a techie at heart, and an avid user of all social media platforms who enjoys testing and discovering mobile apps.'
