Transforming network economics with NFV solutions

Networks are changing the way enterprises do businesses in India. How is Juniper helping them?

The role of networks within an organization have seen an increased significance with digitization becoming central and crucial for enterprises. Organizations are becoming more and more dependent on the efficiency of their network infrastructure in order to function and overcome geographical barriers.

At the heart of what we do, is our commitment to create a more connected world without compromising on neither scalability nor security. Organizations across verticals are moving to the cloud for scalability, flexibility and agility.

We have been a pioneer in this field and have provided innovative solutions to enterprises as well as service providers.  Switching, routing and security are the key areas in which Juniper has actively engaged in, and these three elements contribute hugely to any organization's network infrastructure.

What are the major drivers of network function virtualization (NFV) in India and why?

The networking landscape is in a state of transformation in India. Networks are growing larger with more and more devices on them. This has, in turn led to unprecedented levels of traffic on these networks. Enterprises, at the moment, are largely focusing on how to sustain such work horse networks and maintain its security.

One of the major drivers for organizations to adopt network virtualization function is due to its ability to deliver agile and flexible networks that are highly scalable. With growing demand for network performance, NFV as a solution enables users with services that are delivered virtually - i.e. through software on existing hardware.

Another major driver is, the cost benefits it gives the user with regard to upgrading one's network architecture to suit the growing needs of the present. Hence, NFV changes the economics of the network by removing the underlying process, which separates hardware and software layers, so a lot of these processes can be centrally controlled.

How are Juniper's new solutions delivering seamless network performance, automation and scale to data centers to accelerate cloud services delivery for service providers?

We have pioneered the concept of data center fabric under the brand name of Qfabric and QFX series. These are purpose built data center infrastructure, supporting unmatched scalability, performance, automation APIs and simplicity.

Juniper QFX 10000 series support over 96 TBps switching capability with support for SDN and other automation tools. Junos Fusion, an architecture that can have up to 6,000 ports (10G), to combine as a single switch, reducing the operational complexity over a 100 times. Combining this with our universal SDN gateways and gateway routers can provide huge scalability, performance and automation capability.

Juniper SRX series of next generation firewalls provide over 2 TBps through put with millions of connections per second. This is the only solution, present in the market, that can provide 99.9999 percent service availability (six-nines reliability for nonstop business continuity and application availability).
