Malaysia tops global datacentre drive to 'always-on' availability, study shows

The gap between what users demand and what IT can deliver is driving 93% of Malaysian companies to invest in 24/7 always-on operations, said Veeam's Julian Quinn.

Eighty (80) percent of Malaysian businesses also believe downtime can damage brand integrity, he added. "These results are highest for any APAC country and sits well above the global averages of 68 percent and 62 percent respectively."

Veeam commissioned independent technology market research specialist, Vanson Bourne, to undertake a global research project during late 2015, 1,140 senior ITDMs from enterprise-sized organisations were interviewed from the following countries: US, China, France, Germany, UK, Argentina, Australia/New Zealand, Brazil, Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Nordics, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, and the UAE.
