Lockton upgrades its data centre with Dimension Data

Adrian M. Reodique | June 13, 2016
Dimension Data has helped Lockton upgrade and migrate its data centre in Singapore to a new facility in Hong Kong.

Insurance brokerage firm Lockton has tapped on Dimension Data to upgrade and migrate its data centre in Singapore to a new facility in Hong Kong to better support its operations in the Asia Pacific region.

Lockton used Dimension Data's Data Centre Development Management (DCDM) model to help them identify the items that needed to be migrated and determine the best way to perform site recovery between the data centres in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Dimension Data also reviewed all of Lockton's application and system settings, and provided best practice recommendation report to further fine-tune Lockton's overall infrastructure.

"Thanks to the assistance and support from Dimension Data, our new data centre is now up and running, with all our regional IT services successfully migrated from Singapore to Hong Kong. We have finally achieved our long-awaited goal of providing our APAC operations with a reliable and scalable data centre that is aligned with best practices and industry standards. It is now easy to manage and also more cost efficient," said Suk-Wah Kwok, Regional Chief Information Officer - Asia Pacific, Lockton.

Lockton provides insurance, risk management, employee benefits solutions and insurance brokerage services in 75 locations in 22 countries with more than 6,500 staff worldwide.

Its existing data centre in Singapore will be used for Disaster Recovery.
