Canon's new camera range includes IT tools to redefine imaging technology and encourage versatility as well as creativity among photographers of all levels, according to the imaging solutions firm in Malaysia.
Canon Marketing Malaysia's newly appointed director of the imaging communication products division Donny Ling said technology was used to offer new features for photographers and the specifications for all three models are detailed on the Canon Malaysia website.
"We are delighted to introduce the new additions to the Canon camera family," said Ling. "The EOS 100D, EOS 700D and the PowerShot N are powerful imaging tools that redefine photography with its versatility, powerful performance and technological enhancements."
He said that for example, the EOS 100D was "the world's lightest digital single lens reflex camera (DSLR)" weighed 370g, measured 116.8mm x 90.7mm x 69.4mm with a low-noise 18-megapixel APS-C sized CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 5 image processor.
Ling said the model came with a Clear View LCD II electrostatic touch panel display and "more intelligent functions such its intuitive touch operation and speed of use made it easy even for new users to track moving subjects like kids and pets."
"A Multi Shot Noise Reduction, ideal for handheld photos at night, takes four images in quick succession and then combines the data from all four images into one perfectly composited image without the noise associated with high ISO images," he said, adding that other new functions included Creative Filters, Background Blue Simulation function, Scene Intelligent Auto, Silent Shooting mode and the Extra Effect shot.
