Liquid Digital's aGent V6 HD webcam boasts a clean design, quality video and still image capture. The webcam is cased in a smooth brushed steel -- also available in polished steel -- that beautifully matches the sleek aluminium that surrounds Apple iMacs and MacBooks.
The aGent V6 captures 1600 x 1200 Full HD video with a 2MP sensor and a five-layer glass lens.
Depending on the placement of the webcam, Liquid Digital offers a variety of options. For set up on a desk or shelf, there is a clear plastic desktop stand with a sturdy base, and for mounting on a display or computer, there are a number of Mac- and monitor-attachable clips.
If you own a Mac, the aGent V6 has two different clips for use with iMacs and MacBooks -- while there is also a universal monitor clip that should also work with a number of computers and displays. The webcam even connects to a plastic tripod adapter.
Once you have chosen the clip attachment that fits, simply slide the two together. To secure the webcam to your location of choice, an extendable, padded arm within the tripod adapter can be wound to a tight fit. The camera can also swivel around 90 degrees horizontally and 45 degrees vertically when secured in place.
The aGent V6 is designed to adjust automatically in low- light conditions, in our experience the webcam excelled in both luminescent and low-light surroundings.
Utilising the internal microphone, the V6 can be used with other software, including iChat, Photo Booth and Skype, however, as mentioned in Macworld Australia's review of the V5 in 2009, the accompanying software leaves a lot to be desired. On a positive note the software allows manual brightness, contrast level and white balance configurations.
The aGent V6 is another quality webcam from Liquid Digital, with a myriad of options and clear video capture. Good option for Skype and iChat users.
