Fuji Xerox takes on the official sponsorship of the 27th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) under the IT solutions category.

Hosted by Myanmar for the first time in 44 years, the SEA Games will be held from December 11 to 22, 2013.

An estimated 6,000 athletes from 11 Southeast Asian countries will compete in more than 30 sporting events of the SEA Games. Aside from Myanmar, these countries are Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Cambodia, and East Timor.

Masashi Honda, president of Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Operations and concurrent corporate vice-president Fuji Xerox, described the Games as "a historic event for Myanmar."

"We are very proud to be a sponsor for this event, which the whole of South East Asia is excited about and looking forward to. Fuji Xerox will ensure ample support to the event to make it a success," Honda said.

Just this April, the company established its direct business operations in Yangon, Myanmar through Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Pte Ltd.

Since its foothold in Myanmar, Fuji Xerox has been extending sales consulting services and offering proposals for high value-added products.

"As a leading company in the field of Document Services & Communications, Fuji Xerox will continuously contribute to the development of Myanmar as well as the Southeast Asian region," the company said in a statement.
