Canon has announced the launch of its imageRUNNER ADVANCE (iR-ADV) 4000 series, which offers Malaysian businesses cost efficient enterprise-grade secured copying, scanning, printing and document management capabilities in a single device, said the digital imaging solutions firm.

Canon Marketing Malaysia's assistant director, business imaging solutions, Ooi Chik Hoe, said the new monochrome multifunction devices (MFDs) - the iR-ADV 4025, iR-ADV 4035, iR-ADV 4045 successors and the new iR-ADV 4051 - are designed to improve productivity and provide cost efficiencies for growing businesses.

"The iR-ADV 4000 MFDs are ideal additions to any organisation's network," said Ooi. "Corporate workgroups looking to optimise their printing solution, and SMBs [small and medium businesses] sourcing for cost efficient enterprise-grade printing and imaging solutions will benefit from the on-demand scalability that they can enjoy with the advance print and optional cloud computing features of the iR-ADV 4000 series."

Ooi said the new solutions offer advanced print quality, usability, security, management and productivity features. "The iR-ADV 4000 series strengthens and complements the existing MFD offering y providing better document management capabilities to meet the demands of growing businesses, and allowing companies to cater more efficiently to their print activities."

"The iR-ADV 4000 MFDs provide organisations secured access to the cloud, regardless of their size," he said. "We are confident that the new iR-ADV monochrome MFPs with enterprise-grade document processing capabilities series will help businesses improve productivity and maximise cost savings with the strategic deployment of complementary imaging and document processing devices."

Ooi said a 2011 AMI-Partners study, commissioned by Canon, revealed that one third of print activity in mid-sized and large companies is customer facing, indicating that organisations need to review print activity to better align their relevance and importance of that activity to the print solutions. Instead of taking a broad-brush approach to manage print processes and costs, companies should clearly define their print management process and identify the appropriate combination of print solutions that will effectively meet their business requirements.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4025 and 4051 models are available now in Malaysia.
