Do you foresee these emerging forcing a change in your product offerings, your support and services organisation, and your customer relationships?
We're already seeing a change to the way we're interacting with customers and developing technology to suit their needs. For example, Clustered Data on Tap 8 storage operating system offers a unified cluster architecture that scales and adapts to your changing needs, reducing risk and cost. Clustered Data ONTAP is designed to eliminate downtime, allowing customers to service infrastructure-even during regular business hours-without disrupting access to user data and applications. As part of its architecture, it provides an always-on, scale-out storage solution that can accommodate mixed workloads and multiple SLAs on a shared infrastructure, support high-speed applications, and create large content repositories.
Secondly, with the changing marketplace, we're seeing flash become a very important part of our services. In the past year, there has been an increasing demand for solutions which have low latency and high performance to meet the needs of an increasingly dynamic business environment.
What do you want CIOs and IS organisations to be most wary of in the coming year?
Technology is constantly changing and the implementation of cutting edge technologies and the best emerging technologies might not necessarily ensure efficiency. It is important for customers to ensure their employees are aware of the processes of their current deployment and understand the intricate parts of their IT network. It is important for businesses to set clear expectations of the current technology infrastructure and ensure employees are trained on the right processes and infrastructure.
What is your advice to them for successful deployments during the same period?
It is important for businesses to leverage the skills that sit in the vendor community. As a customer, you know what you want. But we can help you build on these expectations to help develop infrastructure that will help strengthen your business. Build on the skills within the vendor community! It's not just about the individual components, it's about bringing it all together to develop IT infrastructure that is strong and will enable your business to integrate and be cost/business efficient.
