Acronis yesterday (19 April 2016) announced that it has helped a South Korean pharmaceutical company, Yuhan Corporation, to protect its large-scale IT infrastructure and for disaster recovery.
Founded in 1926, Yuhan maintains a solid growth momentum by expanding its business beyond pharmaceuticals to wider areas of operation that help to improve quality of life and public health, such as health foods, household items, veterinary drugs, and cosmetics.
To support its growth, Yuhan required a stable data security solution to protect IT infrastructure, servers and client workstations used by the company's staff at the corporate headquarters, factories and laboratories. There was also a need for establishing a robust disaster recovery procedure to prevent and deal with possible data loss incidents caused by system failures, natural disasters, physical damage and other accidents.
To address these needs, Yuhan deployed the Acronis Backup Advanced for Multiplatform on its existing IT infrastructure to protect its systems and enable disaster recovery for them. Powered by the Acronis AnyData Engine, the solution is optimised for large-scale deployments and is ideal for mixed environments with many heterogeneous devices and operating systems.
According to Acronis, Acronis Backup Advanced provides comprehensive data recovery functionally - from a single email to the entire server. With flexible backup options, the technology reduces network consumption and storage cost. The solution also provides management and monitoring functionality of all data protection tasks from a central console, which has an intuitive interface for system administrators to perform the required tasks.
"The scale of the IT infrastructure used in our company is so large that it has become highly complex to manage. With Acronis, we are able to protect data, servers and systems in an integrated manner and be prepared strategically for system recovery in the event of a disaster. The ability to perform centralised management through the easy-to-use and intuitive interface is highly valued, and the greatly enhanced backup and recovery performance caters for a stable operation of our IT infrastructure," said an official from Yuhan Corporation.
"Acronis offers optimised custom services by exploring challenges and the overall environment, so that we can fully protect data and systems across organizations of different sizes," stated Steve Goh, VP and GM of Sales for APAC and Emerging Markets at Acronis. "Acronis Backup Advanced, in particular, is designed to ensure full compatibility with other product lines, making itself fully available for Yuhan's future addition of servers or system expansion. In addition, we will also continue to provide technical support, custom services and updates."
