Juniper Networks has completed the first phase of the wired and wireless network integration project of South Korea-based Yonsei University.
Under the project, the Juniper Networks EX Series Ethernet Switches featuring 40GbE upgradability has been deployed to drive the implementation of a cloud-enabled campus. The move will also allow the university to scale its network across 69 buildings at its campus in Sinchon, Seoul.
Besides that, the university has leveraged the EX9208 Ethernet Switch to simplify the implementation of its cloud applications, server virtualisation and media collaboration tools.
In addition, the school has deployed the EX4600 Ethernet Switch which provides "deployment flexibility, high availability with integrated In-Service Software Upgrades (ISSU) and simplified MC-LAG management, as well as Virtual Chassis technology, allowing for a mix of up to 10 EX4600 and EX4300 switches in a single configuration," said Juniper Networks in a press statement.
Juniper Networks added that Yonsei University's network was set up specifically to accommodate future network expansion. In essence, network infrastructure has been simplified to a two-tier architecture.
The university's network integration project is broken down into four phases, and is expected to be completed by 2018.
