Why CxOs must ensure their businesses are Always-On: Veeam CEO interview

AvantiKumar | July 21, 2015
During an inaugural visit to Malaysia, Veeam's global CEO Ratmir Timashev outlines some of the company’s Asian expansion plans to Computerworld.

It may not seem critical, but every minute in a real-time business environment, could mean millions of dollars. For example, our customer Aalborg Portland Malaysia requires that reliable real-time data flow is maintained, in order to manage their finely-balanced global logistics business.

What other key takeaways do you want to leave with Malaysian CxOs at this time?

If there's one message we want to leave with Malaysian CxOs, it is that modern business today demands an Always-On infrastructure. This is fast becoming the rule rather than the exception, and is the reason why Veeam has been doing so well.

Thus, as we invest into this region, we hope to partner more organisations in helping them to secure, protect and ensure that their mission critical data is always available.

My point of view after speaking with many of our customers is that each business and industry has its own requirements and needs.

There isn't a perfect solution that is a one-size-fits-all approach. Rather, at Veeam, we build our software to be best-in-class and free from legacy, so we can integrate with the other solutions our customers need.

For some customers, eschewing legacy and moving straight into the Veeam Availability Suite is the best move. Yet, some other customers can't do that, because they've been in business for many years, and have a lot of data existing on legacy systems. However, one thing is clear: we can no longer ignore the value of protecting and ensuring the availability of your organisations' data. Business today is "always-on", and companies need to be prepared to operate in this reality.
