VMware appoints new GM, Southeast Asia

Software maker Vmware said today it named Jon T. Robertson as general manager for Southeast Asia. In his role, Robertson will oversee the company’s virtualisation and cloud computing business in the region, including strategic planning, business development, sales and channels as well as the alignment of key functions such as services, finance and marketing.

Robertson has been with Vmware for six years. He was most recenty the vice president of field operations from VMware K.K. in Japan. 

“Our business in the region has grown significantly in recent years, and we are confident that Jon will lead this diverse and dynamic set of markets to a new era of growth,” said Andrew Dutton, senior vice president and general manager, VMware Asia Pacific & Japan, in a media statement. “Working closely with our regional and in-country teams, Robertson will drive business transformation through IT transformation for our customers and deepen the focus on our partner community to further solidify our leadership position in Southeast Asia.”
